2025 ICAHM
ANNUAL MEETING

The ICOMOS International Scientific Committee on Archaeological Heritage Management (ICAHM) is happy to announce that the 2025 ICAHM Annual Meeting will be held at the cultural town of San Pedro de Atacama, Chile,  12-16 May 2025.

Registration open starting September 30, 2024.

About the Meeting

The ICAHM Annual Meeting is an international event that brings together professionals, academics, and experts in the field of archaeology and cultural heritage conservation. It will be held in San Pedro de Atacama, Chile, from May 12th to 16th, 2025.

This meeting will serve as a platform to discuss critical issues related to the preservation, management, and conservation of archaeological sites and heritage. It will also provide an opportunity to share recent research, establish collaborative networks, and debate strategies to address the challenges facing heritage in different contexts.

Located in the heart of the desert, San Pedro de Atacama is one of the most archaeologically significant places in South America. With human groups arriving more than 11,000 years ago, this town was an important center of cultural and commercial exchange. The discovery of tombs, ceramics, tools, and textiles reveals a high degree of social development and provides detailed insights into the lives of pre-Columbian cultures.

Three out of Chile’s seven World Heritage sites are located in the northern part of the country, making this area an ideal setting for the ICAHM Annual Meeting 2025. Under the clearest skies and on the driest desert in the world, this event in San Pedro offers the opportunity to celebrate our cultural wealth, share scientific advancements, and project our legacy into the future.
